What is Battery Car Service at Vaishno Devi?
The Battery Car Service at Mata Vaishno Devi is an eco-friendly transport facility provided by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. It is mainly used by senior citizens, children, and devotees with medical issues to travel comfortably on the steep stretch between Ardhkuwari and Bhawan. The service is safe, regulated, and operated only by the Shrine Board

Battery Car Timings
Battery car service at Vaishno Devi runs on a regular schedule between Ardhkuwari and Bhawan to assist devotees who prefer a comfortable ride.
Timings are approximate and may vary on peak days, festivals, or weather conditions. Always check the Shrine Board announcements before your travel date.
Charges and Booking online and Offline
Battery car can be booked offline and online.
Battery car Senior Citizen Quota booking is applicable for pilgrims of age 60 years and above only. Others will have to book in General Category.
Infants/Children below 5 years of age will be allowed to travel free (to be carried in lap) and equivalent to the number of Pilgrims. Means, One pilgirm will be allowed to carry only one kid.
The details once submitted at the time of Booking will not be modified and change in Service Dates / Name change will not be entertained once the Booking is completed.
Online booking is done two months in advance. For example, for the bookings of December, you will be allowed to book it in the first week of October (like 1st or 2nd October).
Online booking is just like Tatkal bookings of Indian Railway, which gets full very fast so be ready with your bank details, people details, their ID cards, etc.
Offline booking starts at 7:00 am at the counter of Bhawan and Adhkuwari Battery Car Shed locations.
Offline booking is not accepted in advance for next days.
Yatris can only be allowed in their allocated slot for travelling.
Heavy luggages are not allowed to carry in Battery car.
Shrine Board has not authorized any Private Travel Agent/Agency for selling Battery Car Tickets.
Cancellation Rules
Online tickets booked through Shrine Board website shall be cancelled through Online Mode only.
For Round trip tickets, cancellation will be considered for the entire route – partial cancellation of the route will not be entertained.
The cancellation can be made up to (and not after) 02 days before the scheduled date of travel.
70% of the amount shall be refunded to the Yatris as per the above timelines, the remaining 30% of the amount for the booked ticket shall accrue to the Shrine Board as processing charges.
The refund shall be made by the Shrine Board within 15 working days from the date of cancellation of the tickets.
The amount of refund shall be reimbursed online to the original mode of Payment used for booking of the tickets.
Approaching any of Shrine Counters of SMVDSB by presenting physical tickets, writing e-Mails etc. shall not be entertained under any circumstances.

Reach the boarding point at least 30 minutes before your allotted time slot. Early morning and late evening slots usually have less rush.
